About Sarah Haywood Photography

I’m Sarah Haywood, a third-generation photographer with a knack for creating images that feel authentic, empowering, and unmistakably you. I gently challenge you. And I photograph with intention. Before I pick up my camera, I want to understand the person in front of it. I observe you. Your personality. Your energy. The way you naturally move, laugh, talk and connect with people. Being visible can feel uncomfortable, so I’ll gently push you, guide you and make you laugh. Confidence doesn’t always come before the shoot sometimes you find it during it. The real person behind the business, the brand, the confidence, the nerves and sometimes the “I absolutely hate having my photo taken” feeling. Beautiful images are great. Images that actually work for your business are better. Like ‘’chef kiss’’ better! We plan what you need, where you’ll use it and what you want to communicate. Every image has a job. Whether it’s studio or lifestyle photography my approach is relaxed, creative and encouraging. The goal? Images that make you look at yourself and think....... “Bloody hell… that’s me. ” Real. Confident. Unapologetically you. Because THAT is what will get you noticed!!!

The journey

For the first couple of years of my 7 years in business, I did everything. And weirdly, some of it I loved and hated at exactly the same time. Photographing pets? Pure joy. Dealing with the general public around it? Not so much. Weddings? Loved the actual day. Hated coming home an empty shell after a full day of herding humans like cats. So I sat with that uncomfortable realisation for a while, and then did something that felt terrifying at the time: I said no to almost everything. Now I do two things. Boudoir - watching someone look back at the camera and go "is that really me?" - genuinely nothing beats that moment. And business, personal branding, commercial work. Because I kept meeting incredible business owners who were confident, capable, brilliant at what they do......and then you put a camera in front of them and they completely fall apart. People buy from people. Not enough businesses show their actual faces. That gap is basically my whole career now. Niching down was the best "no" I ever said to my business. 📷 #SevenYearsInBusiness #BrandPhotography #Boudoir

It tells Sarah that the work has been seen, that it matters, and that people are proud of it. For a nominee, that can be the moment that makes the whole year.
