About this category
The Unsung Hospitality Hero of the Year Award celebrates somebody in hospitality whose hard work too often goes unnoticed, from kitchen porters and night staff to maintenance and back office teams.
It recognises the people who make everybody else's success possible.
Eligibility
Open to anyone working in hospitality in any role, based in or serving the region. Nominations by colleagues and managers are especially welcome. Self-nominations and nominations made by others are both welcome.
Judging criteria
- Entries are judged on dedication and reliability
- Going beyond the role
- The difference made to colleagues and guests
- The words of those who nominate them
Qualitative criteria
- What they set out to achieve, and why it mattered
- How they work with others
- What guests and colleagues say about them
Metrics
- Results delivered this year
- Guests or people helped
- Recognition already received
Additional criteria
- Include examples of the work
- The results in figures where possible and a word from a guest
- Colleague or manager
